Attendance matters at Lansbury Bridge School

Why?

  • Attendance matters at Lansbury Bridge School!!

  • Attending school is a legal requirement for your child

  • Good attendance will have a positive effect on pupil’s learning, outcomes and overall mental health and wellbeing

  • It is important that your child attends every possible day throughout the school year

What if my child is unwell?

  • If your child is unwell and unable to attend school you need to contact school first thing in the morning to tell us

  • You can do this by phone 01744 678 579 or by Class Dojo to the staff

  • If you do not contact school we will make a call to you and may need to visit your house if you are not in touch

  • School needs to know where and how your child is in order to fulfil safeguarding processes

COMMUNICATION IS ESSENTIAL AND MAKES THE PROCESSES FLOW EASILY

What is an authorised absence?

  • Your child is not well enough to attend school (proof of illness may be requested in some instances)

  • An unavoidable health appointment

  • A hospital stay

  • A stay at a respite provider

  • A leave of absence agreed by the Headteacher

What is an unauthorised absence

  • A family holiday in term time

  • An absence because a parent or sibling is unwell

  • An absence for a birthday or celebration
